newday Global 2013

We have an important update on our plans to run newday global teams this year. It is with great sadness that the newday team are having to announce that we will not be running any newday Global teams in 2013. This decision has not been taken lightly and following the success of last year's teams it saddens our hearts to have to make this call.

This is primarily due to a resourcing issue and the administration of running the teams into the various locations. In the past administration was handled by Newfrontiers through the UK office and had a dedicated person overseeing it (you may recall the great job Jo Wells has done). Following the closure of this office in December it has proved difficult to replace this function.

We cannot and will not cut corners when it comes to the administration and due diligence necessary for young people to experience mission in different countries. We simply are unable to cover this in 2013 but newday will continue to support mission and we will look to develop something in 2014 in terms of the newday Global experience.

If you have already sent in an application, this will be kept on record and we will be in contact personally about the future of newday Global. If you have any questions or queries concerning this statement, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we will be happy to talk with you.

The summer event will continue to promote, encourage and challenge all our young people into mission and we hope that we will be able to offer new opportunities in the future.

Mixed feelings; I have had the privilege on having been involved in 2 NG teams, and have seen first hand the impact on team members. But I do agree that such trips must be properly administered (well done, Jo!). Looking forward to God opening new doors.
