We Are Yours Album Review

newday 2011 was nothing short of incredible. It was a passionate gathering, brimming with excitement, fervency, energy and faith.

As we joined with almost 7000 people to sing, chant, shout, whistle and dance in praise of our God, the atmosphere was electric. No space for apathy. The sense of purpose and future with a collective of young adults is something really special, and it was a huge privilege to lead such vibrant worship.

As worship leaders at this event we desire to both lift high the name of Jesus and instruct ourselves, ponder His faithfulness and revel in His character. His holiness, His perfect Father heart, His renown as ultimate victor, hero and giver are all central themes in the lyrics of this set of songs, many of which were specifically penned for newday. ‘We are Yours’ was the euphoric cry of the crowd, as we considered our immovable standing as sons and daughters of God.

The newday album is far more than just an event souvenir. Why? First, we absorb a great deal more of our theology from worship songs than we do preaching. Second, for some it is a significant way to extend their faith to those around them at school and college, and a lifeline of truth and reassurance in what can be a tough academic year. My hope is that it will be a source of encouragement, support and life to everybody who hears it.

The newday website, newdaygeneration.org has recently relaunched with a fresh new look, and improved access to all the videos, pictures and audio of last year’s events, and details of what you can look forward to at newday 2012.

We’re excited to be back at the Royal Norfolk Showground, from 13-19 August. Bookings are now open, and the next price break is 16 March, so check it out, and encourage all your young people to be there. It is always an amazing time of seeing God’s blessing poured out upon our young people, and seeing many of them blessing others through projects across Norwich.

Watch the videos, download the talks, relive the memories, and book in for 2012 now!
