This year Newday is teaming up with ‘Who Cares?’ a Norfolk based initiative that means that our outreach is going to be different, and better than ever before.
1. It’s bigger – outreach has always been a big deal at Newday but this year Newday is taking part in one of the largest missions happening in the nation. It’s called ‘Who Cares?’ and involves over 60 different churches and organisations. We have tons more outreach spaces than last year and the opportunity to connect with literally tens of thousands of people over the Newday week. Some of you may even end up going out twice in the week. Churches all over Norfolk and parts of Suffolk are taking part and they can’t wait to meet you. It’s gonna be huge.
2. It’s bolder – part of the fun of outreach has always been taking the courage to step out of your comfort zone, and this year we are calling everyone on Newday outreach to go deeper in a very simple way. We’ll be reaching people on the streets, at events and even door to door. In a simple and fun way we can connect with tens of thousands people. It’s been great to wash cars and paint fences to demonstrate God’s love but it’s also amazing when people get to hear about God’s love declared. This year that’s part of outreach. How? All will be revealed out our special training for outreach (see point 4)
3. It’s onsite as well as offsite – not only do you get to do outreach off site but there’s going to be a massive prayer space on site for outreach where you can learn about prayer and take the lost of Norfolk before the Father. Be prepared for God to touch your heart with his heart for the broken, remembering that prayer is ‘more important than organisation, more powerful than armies, more influential than wealth and mightier than all learning’
4. You will get trained – this year everyone on outreach has a training session on the morning before they go out (during seminars). You will hear the big vision for what is going on and find out everything you need to know to take part. It’s gonna be awesome.
5. It’s for everyone - as long as you are aged 12 or over and whether you are following Jesus or not, this year’s outreach is for you, we’ve shaped it up so everyone can take part and play their part in making history in Norfolk. We can’t wait to see you
