Exercising the fruit of the Spirit, patience.
The server booking system is still a work in progress although we have been promised that it is in the test phase.
Here is a checklist of things that you can do now to make booking into Newday 2017 as a server an easier experience...
1) Book time off from your work, don’t forget serving pre week as well as the main event may be options.
2) Find your tent.
3) Set things in motion to ensure you have an enhanced DBS certificate dated on or after 1 August 2014, or that you have registered with the updating service, if your certificate is dated before then. If you don't have a valid certificate with your church or workplace we can apply for one for you, at the nominal price of £10. You can apply now by emailing [email protected] and our team will be in touch (suggested wording: Hello DBS team! I need a DBS certificate so I can serve at Newday this summer. Please let me know how to apply.)
4) Remember who brought your tent back from Newday last year.
5) Make contact with your team leader, if you know who they are, to let them know that you are up for serving this year. Use Facebook and other social media to make contact with friends from last year.
6) Buy a new tent.
7) Think about where you are going to camp. If it is with your church then please ensure that you make contact with you Group Coordinator so that they know you will be on their site.
If you're hoping to serve part-time in one of our teams, please don't worry that you'll miss out on the best prices. We'll make sure that you're not penalised financially by the delay at our end.
