Newday Festival 2022

About Newday Festival

Newday is one of the largest Christian events for young people that takes place in the UK every year. Young people age 12-18 join together with youth leaders and team members from churches up and down the UK and Europe to learn about and worship God, camp out together and soak in the summer festival feeling, leaving Newday further along in their relationship with Jesus.

First launched in 2004, Newday festival now welcomes more than 7,000 young people each year to the Norfolk Showground near Norwich in the UK.

Initially formed to serve the Newfrontiers network of churches, the event now attracts groups from all denominations and backgrounds, whether from inner cities or rural settings. The festival has an incredible diverse flavour.

Be on team

It takes around 900 volunteers to help make Newday happen. Here's your chance to get involved and help to make this year’s event a success.

To join a team at Newday you need to be aged 19 or over before the event starts, and obtain a DBS Certificate through Newday (learn more about the DBS process here).

Being part of a Newday team can be hard work… but it's great fun!

You can work either full- or part-time, depending on when you’re available and which team you choose.

Work for around seven hours a day and we’ll give you a free place at Newday and, for the amazing price of £25, we’ll feed you twice a day in our celebrated restaurant. If you’d prefer to sort your own catering or eat with your church, that’s fine.

Work around four hours a day and pay half the Standard rate delegate fee. You’ll need to make your own arrangements for food.

Please note that there’s no fee reduction if you just work during setup and/or take down but not during the main event week. However we will give you three meals a day for free during setup and take down, and the food is just as good!

Kids' Work is provided for all 3-11s during the mornings. This is primarily to release parents to serve in other areas of Newday, or to be on site for delegates from their church group. A brilliant group of kids' workers take care of and lead the younger children in worship and teaching. There’s a special programme for those aged 3-11 years every morning, split into three age groups (3-4s, 5-7s and 8-11s).
